C-Band 112 Gb/s Nyquist Single Sideband Direct Detection Transmission Over 960 km SSMF

We demonstrate the single channel direct detection transmission of 112 Gb/s Nyquist 16-QAM half-cycle single sideband (SSB) subcarrier modulation (SCM) signal over 960 km standard single mode fiber with erbium-doped fiber amplifier-only amplification at C-band. Fiber Kerr nonlinearity in SSB-SCM systems is investigated for long distance transmission. The nonlinear distortion is suppressed by the pre-distorted digital back-propagation (DBP) method applied at the transmitter side. With DBP, a 1.02 dB Q
