Robust closed loop control of the transformerless DC-DC converters with high step up voltage gain

In this paper, robust control of the high-gain DC-DC converters are investigated using sliding mode controller (SMC). Different aspects of the closed-loop controller design are studied. Also, state-space average model and different transfer functions of the converter are extracted. It is shown that in direct control of the output voltage, the system has a right half plane zero in the converter transfer function. To cope with this problem, output voltage is controlled by regulation of the inductor current. In the designed controller, control law includes integral of the output voltage error; hence proposed approach has no steady-state error. In order to evaluate effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach, developed controller is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink toolbox.
