A novel design of circular fractal antenna using inset line feed for multiband applications

In this paper the novel design of circular fractal antenna for multiband applications is presented and discussed. Proposed antenna is designed on FR4 glass epoxy substrate with dielectric constant 4.4, thickness 1.6mm and resonant frequency of 3.2GHz. Different parameters of proposed antenna are simulated and measured using inset feed and without inset feed to analyze the performance of proposed antenna. Maximum value of gain without and with inset feed is 4.83dB and 9.57dB respectively. HFSS V13 software is used for designing and simulating the proposed antenna. Measured results are compared with the simulated results and both are in good agreement with each other. The proposed antenna can be used for different wireless applications such as c-band (4 to 8GHz), bluetooth (2.12- 2.95GHz), WLAN (4.82-5.95GHz) etc.
