Blade pitch angle and tip speed ratio control schemes for constant power generation of WECS

The mechanical control schemes based on blade pitch angle and the other scheme tip speed ratio in Wind Turbine (WT) operation are required to attain constant power generation. Therefore, it is required to use peculiar and effective controllers to implement and investigate in such a way to attain torque which should be constant. The suitable and effective controlling methodologies are proportional-integral (PI)/artificial neural network (ANN) based blade pitch angle and tip speed ratio controllers are designed and considered for performance investigation related to and have effect on torque stability and response time. The proposed system is designed in such an environment which gives better result i.e. MATLAB/Simulink environment and investigated under variable conditions of wind speed. However, the performance of the system is found satisfactory with the PI/ANN based controllers.
