A contingent performance analysis of M-FLC using HBCC in an islanded microgrid

This paper presents a control scheme for Microgrid in islanding mode of operation. Here, a Mamdani based Fuzzy Logic Controller (M-FLC) has been used to restrain the voltage of the system. The voltage control strategy has been used for the control purpose. In addition, this paper also uses the Hysteresis Band PWM technique for instantaneous current control. It has been proved that irrespective of controllers and control output the Hysteresis Band Current Controller (HBCC) is giving fast response to transient condition and can able to directly limit the device current. The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed M-FLC is validated by comparing it with a conventional Proportional Integral (PI) Controller by the performances during load and voltage variation. The M-FLC in this system is properly modeled, simulated and validated based on simulation studies in MATLAB environment.
