Flight results of VELOX-CI microsatellite mission

The advancement of GPS technology has resulted in many novel applications. Most of the recent satellites carried GPS or GNSS modules onboard for precise orbit determination. Besides using them for the navigation, they can also be used for many other applications. In this paper, the mission of the microsatellite VELOX-CI is presented. The satellite carried an in-house developed GPS radio occultation payload that consists of 3 GPS receiver modules. Besides using them for precise orbit determination, they are also used for the measurement of total electron content of the ionosphere, studying of the vertical profile of the weather for long term climate study, and 3-axes attitude determination of the satellite.
