Threshold of the symmetry property of cyclic autocorrelation function detector

Cognitive radio is one of the promising techniques that has been considered as a key solution addressing the spectrum scarcity challenge. It relies on three basic functions among which spectrum sensing is the most critical. In this paper, we study the test statistic of a recently proposed spectrum sensing algorithm, which is the symmetry property of cyclic autocorrelation function (SP-CAF) detector. The main objective of this work is to provide a function describing the threshold of the SP-CAF detector from the desired probability of false alarm. Different parameters of the detector are evaluated under the null hypothesis; simulations show that the key one is the number of lags which will be used to model the threshold.
