Morphology based fuzzy approach for detection & classification of simultanious power quality disturbances

In this paper Power Quality events detection and classification are analyzed by the use of Mathematical Morphology (MM) and fuzzy decision tree (FDT) which is the new contribution to the literature studies. The combined performance of MM and FDT is compared with other established methods such as Wavelet Transform (WT). Single as well as simultaneous PQ disturbances have been simulated and passed through the proposed algorithm to demonstrate the efficiency of the technique. The performance results imply that the proposed method has a higher recognition rate compared with other established techniques.
