A study of an iterative method using the Schur complement for strongly coupled electromagnetic and circuit analysis

This paper describes an iterative method for rapidly solving the linear system arising in strongly coupled electromagnetic and circuit analysis problems. We evaluate the Preconditioned Conjugate Gradient (PCG) method with a Schur complement preconditioner and confirm that the proposed method improves the convergence property. Numerical results for an actual electromagnetic analysis model with many circuit elements show the advantage with respect to its computational cost.
