Scientific potential of a higher educational institution as a factor of effective strategic partnership with an industrial enterprise

In modern economic conditions the interaction of economic entities as part of effective strategic partnership is becoming more and more important. One of the major factors exerting an impact on forms of cooperation of resources and coordination of activities of an industrial enterprise and a higher educational institution aimed at gaining mutual benefits and effects of synergy is scientific potential. A major task which exists when an enterprise is choosing a university (a strategic partner) is to appraise its scientific potential with the use of methods and models requiring adaptation to the features of an appraisal object. The issues of efficiency evaluation of the scientific capacity of a higher educational institution correspond to the tasks of the government of the Russian Federation in the course of training of the top skilled human resources. The paper estimates the value of the scientific potential of a higher educational institution which was carried out on the basis of the EBO model. It also presents comparative analysis of techniques for ranking universities.
