Design of multistage gradient coaxial based on axial dislocation compensation method

Impedance matching is the essential requirement in the design of a coaxial structure. The abrupt change of the inner and outer diameter of the coaxial structure will lead to the change of its characteristic impedance, and then enormous reflection would be excited if the failure of the proper design. In this article, a structure of multistage gradient coaxial is built, which is based on the axial dislocation compensation method (ADCM). Then, its performance is investigated through CST simulation and the theory of equivalent two port network. The contrastive results show that the VSWR of the presented structure through ADCM with equivalent circuit method much better than empirical method in the entire wave range of investigated. In addition, the combination of multistage buffering gradient method and ADCM can be used to suppress the reflection for the large scale gradient coaxial structure.
