A novel wearable 3D printed RFID badge tag

A novel 3D RFID badge tag fabricated by 3D printing technology is proposed. The badge shape facilitates the tag's integration with clothes for the purposes of identification and access control. The proposed tag features a compact size (radius 20 mm, height 5 mm) and a good performance with a simulated maximum reading range of 9.7 m (4.0 W EIRP) in the RFID FCC band (902-928 MHz). Furthermore, the 3D printing technology dramatically reduces the fabrication time and cost.
