Random search based optimization algorithms in control analysis and design

This paper discusses the use of adaptive random search algorithms for global optimization in control systems analysis. The discussion is presented in the context of a real robust stability margin analysis problem. Numerical results are used to provide insight into the potential of these algorithms to impact control system analysis and design problems.
