Preparation of Au-MoS2 electrochemical electrode and investigation on glucose detection characteristics

Glucose detection is very important in the areas of medical testing, food processing and bio-analysis. MoS2 microflower modified by Au nanoparticles can effectively improve the electrochemical performance of glucose sensor due to the better electronic conductivity and electro-catalytic activity of precious metal. So we used Au-MoS2 as electrochemical electrode to detect the different concentrations of glucose in 0.1 M phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution. The experimental results showed that the Au-MoS2 electrochemical electrode had higher response current and electro-catalytic activity than the MoS2 electrode. The Au-MoS2 electrode displayed a good electrocatalytic activity with the high sensitivity of 932μΑ mM⁻¹, and the linear range was 0–15 mM for the detection of glucose. This work makes Au-MoS2 materials apply to the electrochemical sensing applications.
