Optimized plan of charging stations for management of demands: An emerging need of hybrid electric vehicle

Sustainable way of transportation especially in Electrical vehicles (EVs) are ready for public acceptance in order to reducing the bioenvironmental effects. One of the critical factors in tendency to use of EVs is the capability of long distance trips causes to need electrical charging stations. Such stations can answer the requirements to offer remarkable amounts of energy in similar time durations to the time that a vehicle that gets filled with petrol. Regarding to the charge demand and limitations of the technology, we have studied and offered optimized plan of fast charging stations. This paper presents a fast charging station with a flywheel energy storage system. Using such a system, we can meet the demand charge, improve and develop the load profile, and minimize the operational costs of the fast charging station for leading us to cost efficiency. For this aim, a storage system is hired in the optimal charging station to store the low price electrical energy during off-peak hours and uses this energy to recharge electric vehicles during on-peak hours. So, it will be possible to shift the EV load from the peak to the valley periods and therefore, the optimal fast charging station not only reduces the cost of electrical energy, but also improves the network load profile. So in this study, the technical characteristics of different storage technologies are debated. The life cycle cost analysis of electric energy storage is done and different energy storage technologies are considered in the analysis. For various storage systems, the cost per kilowatt hour to store electricity is calculated and then is compared with each other. Based on this comparison, the optimal storage system is selected and then the optimal capacity for the storage system is determined.
