Hybrid maintenance cost optimization for EPC brake system of PMSM driven rail vehicle

This paper proposed a novel strategy to optimize maintenance costs of PMSM EPC system by combining both maintenance optimization and control optimization. The proposed infrastructure is divided into two parts: brake optimal control part and maintenance reconfiguration part. Compared with traditional maintenance schedule optimization problems, optimal control is executed in advance in order to relieve the wear of brake shoe. The results show that accurate estimation of the demagnetization condition was obtained, and real-time adaptive control for the optimal p-braking force profile was generated, which can effectively relieve brake shoe wear.
