Reliability simulation method on a flange-sealing structure

The paper demonstrates an analysis example of a flange-sealing structure. Taking the O-ring width and bolt pre-tightening force as tolerance-parameters, obtaining the stress response surface according to the loop analysis results by ANSYS, then extracting the stress results of randomized parameters from the stress response surface, plotting the stress response distribution and calculating the reliability of the flange-sealing structure in the end. The results show the stress of the O-ring increases as the pre-tightening force rises and decreases as the O-ring width rises. Also, the stress is more sensitive to the pre-tightening force than the O-ring width. When the given lower limit value is 45MPa, the reliability of the flange-sealing structure is calculated as 99.9%.
