Computer modeling of a collapsible surface of the mirror of the parabolic antenna, while maintaining the technical characteristics

Active development of satellite communications and wireless technologies requires the solution of the problem of the compact package of the antenna in order to transport it to the installation location. Optimal separation of the parabolic surface into segments should provide the simplicity of gathering and efficient packaging in the disconnected form. Besides, the development of opportunities of partial replacement of the mirror of the antenna in case when the part of its surface loses its technical abilities is an important problem. The existing development of antennas constructions does not allow solving two problems at the same time. They either have the complexity of gathering and repairing, or a part of the technical possibilities is lost due to the replacement of the parabolic surface by the approximating polyhedron. In this study, we carried out a geometric analysis of the parabolic surface and proposed to divide the surface of the parabolic antenna on the principle of parallel movement on some positions of the line forming. This type of separation of the parabolic allows stacking segments compact by the type <;<;nested doll>> - one in one. It saves space when transporting. In addition, the separation of the mirror surface of the antenna at the annular or arc segments simplifies assembly and subsequent repair. The existing CAD-systems allow automating the design process with the possibility of adjustment of the frequency of the separation of antenna without loss of its technical characteristics.
