Application of Embedded Computer Module in Intelligent Measurement Instruments

This paper analyzed the application of embedded computer system in the field of electronic measurement instrument. The general work principle of an instrument was firstly introduced. The characteristics of common embedded computer system were briefly discussed. The emphasis was put on the considerations for the platform design of typical electronic measurement instrument. According to the new intelligent instrument design of peak power analyzer, an application solution was presented. The module choice, system bus design, human-machine interface design and hardware and software design were discussed in great detail. The design of USB device interface compatible with USBTMC was vividly implemented. The results show that the effective design based on embedded computer module can dramatically shorten the development period. The design conception also attributes to other electronic control systems.
