Query processing of inconsistent data using neutrosophic set

In the present paper, we have attempted to process indeterminate data through imprecise queries from a database using neutrosophic set which is based on truth, indeterminacy and false membership values. Firstly, we have introduced a similarity measure formula to measure closeness of two neutrosophic data which in turn is used to get the similarity value for each tuple with the uncertain query for neutrosophic set. Next, a decision maker (DM) provides a tolerance (α-cut) value based on which a corresponding SQL command is created for the given imprecise query. The query retrieves different result sets from the database for different α-cut values. Finally, it has been shown with suitable examples that neutrosophic set gives accurate result for any kind of uncertain query.
