Online estimation of engine Driveline dynamic response

Based on the key structures of the engine Driveline system a torsional vibration model is developed, to pinpoint important dynamics of the system.By implementing an Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) technique, using a parametric technique (Stochastic Subspace Identification (SSI)) algorithm on the Instantaneous Angular Speed (lAS) signal during engine's transient shutdown operation, key Driveline modal parameters were identified. Both simulation studies and experimental evaluation shows a good degree of reliability. Two flexible frequency mode around 4.197Hz and 13Hz and their respective damping ratio were estimated.
