Implementation of photovoltaic inverter for high power agricultural applications using interleaved fly-back topology

In this present day scenario, the world evolves around the renewable energy which is a clean energy with less maintenance and production cost. One of methods to obtain the renewable energy is from solar energy using photovoltaic panel. In this project, the main aim is to produce high power of about 2KW which can be used for agricultural applications such as for pumping of water and also for residential applications. A prototype is implemented which can be extended to produce much higher power by connecting 5 panels in a string and 6 strings in parallel, which forms a part of a solar farm to produce 2KW. The design of photovoltaic inverter system is implemented using the interleaved fly-back topology. The proposed model adapts interleaving of three cell and snubber circuit which helps to achieve a smooth continuous current mode. When switch of the proposed one is operated at turn-on transition, the snubber circuit achieves reduction in the ringing voltage of the diodes in the secondary winding of fly back transformer. The proposed inverter system achieves a less number of component counts, which in turn increases the overall efficiency and smaller size. The control action for the inverter system is given by the Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm, in this Perturb and Observe algorithm is used. A simulation comparative study is made between the proposed systems and existing systems. The efficiency of about 95% and total harmonic distortion of the grid current is as less as 0.05 is achieved in the proposed system.
