Usability of luminaries with LED sources to illuminate the window areas of architectural objects

This paper presents test results related to the emission impact of illumination on selected elements of the façade of an architectural structure. The detailed tests were focused on the zone illumination of window recesses made using linear lighting fittings with LED light sources. The tests included the evaluation of the illumination fittings possibly causing light pollution in the environment outside the contour outline of the window recess, the impact of illumination on the outdoor lighting conditions and an unexpected illumination of the window recess. The tests used a graphical environment, in which the geometrical form of a typical window recess was mapped with the light distribution models of several lighting fittings dedicated for this type of illumination.
