Decoupling Control of a Dual-Rotor Machine for Electric Variable Transmission System

This paper proposes the dual-rotor permanent magnet reluctance (DRPMR) machine for electric variable transmission (EVT) in hybrid electrical vehicles. By analyzing the different characteristics of several typical work conditions, this paper introduces torque decoupling control strategies to make the engine work at high fuel efficiency area which realizes full functions of the EVT in hybrid vehicles. The control algorithms are evaluated by computer simulation and prototype design.
