Hybrid optimization design of a high-speed permanent magnet machine used for EV traction

The paper is dealing with the optimum design of a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machine (HS-PMSM), to be used for the traction of an electric vehicle. A hybrid optimization algorithm, based on particle swarm and simulated annealing approaches is employed for the optimization of the studied machine. The finite element method approach is used to numerically validate the optimum design of the HS-PMSM.
