Numerical simulations of the electric parameters of the plate-type electrostatic precipitators supplied with DC voltage

The paper presents the electric potential and the electric field strength simulations in a duct of a section duct of plate-type electrostatic precipitators. These electrical parameters are difficult to measure and can be estimated through simulations using numerical calculation software. Discharge wires, collecting plates and geometrical design identical with large industrial plate-type electrostatic precipitators use in thermo-electrical power plants were considered. Numerical methods were used to make simulation. As expected, the electric potential and the electric field strength are huge in the vicinity of discharge wires.
