Fatigue and modulus characteristics of wire-lay nylon rope

Wire-lay nylon rope has been developed for demanding applications where high elongation and extended fatigue life are required. In a field application, the wire-lay rope outperformed double-braided products by more than 60:1. The improvement in performance can be attributed to the elimination of strand crossovers in the rope, which are known to cause internal abrasion in braided constructions.
