Optically asymmetric structures for transparent electrodes

We designed and numerically studied an optically asymmetric structure based on photonic nanojet effect. It can provide averaged asymmetry coefficient (ratio of forward transmission to backward one) 4.7 at averaged forward transmission 91% (in optical band) and has sheet resistance close to that of metallic film. The structure is made of abundant materials and can be produced by conventional nanofabrication methods. It can be used as a transparent electrode with light-trapping function for thin film solar cells.
