Propagation of torsional surface wave in an irregular gravitating medium

The study of propagation of torsional surface waves in a homogeneous layer over a semi-infinite heterogeneous gravitating half space. The rigidity is varying linearly with depth and constant density in the half-space. The irregularity has been taken in the half-space in the form of a rectangle and parabola. It has also been observed that heterogeneity, gravity and irregularity have notable effects of the propagation of torsional surface waves. Finally it has been seen that for a homogeneous layer over a homogeneous half-space, the phase velocity of torsional surface waves coincides with that of Love waves.
