Industrial internet of micro smart grid for educational process

In Moscow Power Engineering Institute there is created a modern electrical engineering educational program. Basis of this program is industrial internet and online power quality parameters of micro smart grid. Currently in the field of traditional electricity there are significant changes. These changes include the active use of power electronics with great level of harmonics, IT-technologies, increased attention to energy saving, development of approaches to create a smart grid, the integration of the traditional system of power supply of renewable energy and more. Different degree students have the opportunity to take part in laboratory classes, where they work with specialized software via the Internet. In online mode they have access to the actual transformer station and can observe the state of the electrical network at any point in the substation. Also at the substation has an active filter, which can be controlled remotely. There are laboratory classes, where students are able to analyse voltage and current harmonics up to the fortieth, evaluate the contribution of individual harmonics in the level of additional losses in the phase and neutral conductors, calculate the additional losses in the power transformer, evaluate the effectiveness of the active filter and so on. This educational program has been used successfully for more than three years and have achieved impressive results. The percentage of students who have successfully passed the exam, up to 35%. Students respond positively on virtual labs. Fragment of an educational program on the basis of industrial internet and online power quality parameters of micro smart grid is discussed.
