Improving students' motivation to study using salary prediction system

This paper proposes a salary prediction system for increasing students' motivation in studying. A decision tree technique is used to generate a prediction model with seven features. We evaluated the system efficiency using 13,541 records of graduated student data in 10-fold cross validation. An accuracy result in overall is 41.39%. Furthermore, we exploit questionnaires to evaluate effectiveness of the system with 50 student samples. The result shows that the system can effectively boost students' motivation in studying and also show them a positive viewpoint of their future. At last, the sampling students answer the positive satisfaction in using the system since they found the system is easy to use and the prediction results are simple and comprehensible.
