End-end delay minimization using real time routing protocol for wireless sensor networks

A real-time routing protocol was presented for wireless sensor networks, called SPEED based on stateless algorithms with minimal control overhead and feedback mechanism. By the novel combination of the feedback control and non-deterministic geographic forwarding end-to-end real-time communication is accomplished in the sensor networks with desired delivery speed. SPEED is a highly scalable and efficient routing protocol when the resources of each node are scarce. The SPEED routing protocol provides primarily three types of real-time communications, real-time unicast, multicast and anycast. We evaluated SPEED protocol via simulation using Network Simulator (NS2) and compared it with other routing protocols: Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR). In this paper, the protocols DSR and AODV along with SPEED were studied and performance standards of these protocols are simulated using Network Simulator (NS2) for different mobility.
