Webpages adaptation based on one-to-one mapping

It is well-known that the limitation of mobile screen size makes browsing unresponsive webpages boring. This boring browsing phenomenon may cause the users to leave these web pages which could contain the information they seek. Although search engines give guidelines for mobile optimization where all web pages must be compliant with their rules, there still appears some web pages that do not achieve these guidelines. Some search engines may reduce the ranking of these web pages due to some drawbacks on mobiles web browsing such as text lines which are so close to each other as well as text font size which could not be suitable for readability. These factors may make a website losses its publicity regardless its contents. The appearance of these drawbacks in the classical browsing encourages us to introduce a new framework that enhances unresponsive web pages to become more mobile friendly. This framework is mainly based on two main steps. The first one is to segment the web page to semantic blocks. The second one is to map these semantic blocks to mobile friendly blocks and then arrange them to construct a new web page suitable for mobile viewing. The results from our experiment and evaluation show that the one-to-one mapping technique is an effective method to adapt web pages.
