Color rendition quality problem in digital television systems and related applications

The paper presents the results of studies on the problem of color rendition quality in television systems and related applications, which were conducted by the authors in the framework of participation on behalf of the Communications Administration of Ukraine in the activity of Study Group 6 “Broadcasting services” of the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunication Union for coordination world progress and international standardization systems, services and technologies of digital TV and multimedia broadcasting. The problems of color rendition quality control in current, new and upcoming television and multimedia systems are highlighted, and the analysis of the factors that should be considered in research and development aimed at further progress in this direction is given. Targets are set on possible further steps on the way to further enhance quality of color rendering quality.
