High field conduction and space charge in polyvinylidene fluoride

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has received considerable attention because of its high dielectric constant and because of its piezo- and pyro-electrie properties [1]. PVDF is also an interesting polymer from the morphological point of view and it has at least two stable crystalline forms, i.e. the α-form (non-polar TGTG molecular conformation) and the β-form (polar planar zig-zag conformation) [2].
