The dielectric properties of leaves, sticks, and dirt at radio and microwave frequencies

This paper presents data on the dielectric properties of living plant material and clay soil. Measurements were made on a variety of specimens at 23°C and over a frequency range from 10⁵ Hz to 4.2 × 10⁹ Hz. These data supplement a variety of studies¹ of the effect of trees and earth on electromagnetic radiation.
