Detection of osteoarthritis using SVM classifications

Collaboration of different techniques and disciplines of engineering and technology can produce effective systems which have the ability to prove very useful in day to day life to and make life easy & simple. With the advancement in time and technology, Bio-Medical services have improved a lot, for example, Portable Diabetes checking machine has made life of many diabetic patients easy as they can check their glucose level without referring any doctor. An Expert Osteoarthritis System can determine the presence of Arthritis in knee caused by wear and tear of cartilage which makes bones to rub against each other and cause pain and other related problems. The very foremost task is to design a memory based on technology containing necessary data groups for quantitative Osteoarthritis analysis using X-ray of patients suffering from Osteoarthritis. Then an inference engine can be developed to process and compare input cartilage from X-ray of current user with pre-defined databases. Simulation can be done in MATLAB and a statistical classification technique called Support Vector Machine can be employed for training the inference engine in this system.
