A comparative analysis between MRAC and FMRAC for an unstable system

A comparative analysis of two adaptive control techniques for an unstable system is presented in this paper. The first technique is based on the stability theory of Lyapunov that is model reference adaptive control (MRAC) and second method is based on fuzzy logic control (FLC) and known as fuzzy model reference adaptive control (FMRAC). In both the schemes asymptotic tracking of two reference models (RMs) taking different settling time with similar damping conditions are applied in order to study the effect on desired output with respect of settling time, over shoot and steady state error and to identify the suitable RM for both the schemes. The objective of the proposed FMRAC is to improve the performance parameters and response of MRAC.
