Solar cell: A new era

In today's world the demand of energy is increasing day by day. To meet the demand of increasing energy new source of energy are being searched. Solar energy is being in trend these days. Solar cell are being installed in every part of the world to meet the requirement of the increasing energy. But a solar cell is an expensive medium for energy production. The maintenance of a solar cell is expensive and it can produce power in cloudy weather. That's why solar cell cannot be used everywhere due to its low efficiency in dark day and maintenance cost. Basically the solar cell is based on the effect known as photovoltaic effect or a solar cell is also known as a photovoltaic cell. A photovoltaic cell is having two terminals acting as cathode and an anode. Generally used solar cell is made of silicon. In 1942 the greatest invention the invention of light emitting diode happen. The diode was invented to produce light of different colors with low power consumption and high brightness with low heat radiation. But now it is found that a diode made to produce light consuming power can also produce power using light. This is found that the light emitting diode also act as a photovoltaic cell. By this founding the new era of solar cell begin with new source of energy coming in front of the world. In this paper the author share their experience over this new beginning of the age of solar cell.
