Relation-based morphological operations

In this paper, we propose generalized morphological operations which are defined in terms of relations. Under such generalization, most algebraic properties of dilations and erosions are preserved. Moreover, in terms of these relation-based morphological operations, Matheron's representation theorem can be extended to represent translation-invariant operations on l-images.
