A polynomial filter for the preprocessing of mail address images

A technique for the enhancement of mail address images is proposed. It is based on a quadratic operator which is able to reduce noise and to sharpen the image details by sending the correlation present between couples of pixels belonging to a character. Experimental results confirm the validity of this paragraph.
