Performance Considerations on Adaptive L-Filters

In this paper we will discuss some properties of adaptive order-statistic filters. The main objective is the analysis of two adaptive algorithnis which are commonly used to update the filter coefficient..,; and the comparison with their linear counterparts. Such a comparison is a useful too[ to get, approx imate results about the behaviour of these algo rithms. This is true because the structure of die. solution of the underlying optimality criteria is die same as for linear transversal filters, i.e. fliat, no additional constraints will be imposed on die fifter coefficients, as e.g. unbiasedness.
