Integrity CAE for enhanced quality and life cycle cost reduction

This paper discusses the application of a act of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools developed and used by BNR to enhance product quality and reduce life cycle cost. A description of each of the modules in the tool set is given, including technical and economic merits. Metrics collected during the design process are given to illustrate the improved designer effectiveness through the use of the CAE tools. Field data was presented that demonstrate the enhanced quality of products whose designers used these tools in the design process.
