HLAN - An Architecture for Optical Multi-Access Networks

Many discussions in the recent literature address issues in designing architectures for high speed optical multiaccess networks in the presence of long propagation delays, e.g. [1,2,3]. There are several diffEulties in creating such architectures. One difficulty is to design solutions that support both guaranteed bandwidth (GBW) services and random access bandwidth-on-demand (BOD) services.
