Effect of dipolar polarization on electrical conduction in polar polymers

The conduction phenomena of polar polymers were explained by a simple one-carrier model in which effects of dipole orientation were included. Comparing the experimental and calculated current-time (J-t) characteristics, the dipole relaxation time T and the lower limit of car rier mobility /spl mu/ of uniaxially-stretched /spl Beta/-phase polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) were roughly estimated at 26 sec and 3xx10/sup -12/ m/sup 2//Vs, respectively, under the field in the range of 10/sup 6/ to 10/sup 7/ V/m at 353 K.
