A database design system with conceptual model description language

An infological database design system (AIDS), which provides a systematic approach for,designing a mixed data model system, is proposed. Two conceptual level languages are used to model application areas. An information definition language CIDL) is used to specify information structure and information semantics related to each application process. According to a schema model specification, AIDS generates a prototype of source schema through the IDL internal model (Basic Object Model). The user interactively designs the logical and physical schema until a complete schema is obtained. An application process definition language (APDL) is used to specify process behaviors. AIDS also provides a data dictionary facility.
