20 years of SISPAD: Adolescence of TCAD and further perspective

SISPAD and Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) are relatively new compared to semiconductors. The history of using computers to design technology dates to the 60's and the first conferences devoted to the field started in the late 70's. As the field matured, the various conferences combined. TCAD has both benefited from and contributed to Moore's Law. New frontiers in nano-devices, sensors, reliability, and alternate materials are still active areas of research.
