The development of a high current pulsed power supply

In order to enhance the reservoir permeability and conductivity of oil reservoir and to improve the production of oil and gas by using the high-energy arc fracturing device, a high frequency high voltage sparker with a stored energy of 40kJ was developed. The sparker is mainly composed of a high voltage high frequency charging supply, energy storage capacitors, a discharging electrodes and a safety discharge device. The charging supply adopts the full bridge inverter and series resonant mode and it operates on the half of resonant frequency. A high voltage transformer of dry type was used and the average charging rate of the charger exceeds 1 kJ/s. An optical fiber was used to isolate and transmit the high voltage signal between high voltage part and control system.
