Technologies for segregation and management of solid waste: A review

In the present scenario, waste management has become a serious issue due to rapid urbanization, economical activities and increase in human population. The amount of solid waste generated in the world is steadily increasing; insufficient collection and inappropriate disposal of solid wastes represents a source of water, land and air pollution, and pose risks to human health and the environment. Government in all countries is currently focusing on efficient techniques to approach the challenges faced in Solid Waste Management (SWM). Various technologies were proposed and using for the efficient management and segregation of solid waste. This paper presents a review on technologies for segregation and management of solid waste.
