Internal flow analysis of ejector system using CFD

The internal flow through gas dynamic equipments occupies important position in aero space application to explore efficient and cost effective technologies for the future of mankind. The employing equipments include the flow nozzles, diffusers, ejectors etc. These hard wares finding their application ranging from aircrafts to space vehicles are very costly to manufacture. It is most complicated to predict the flow phenomenon in these equipments due to varying flow conditions from sub sonic to supersonic and also in the transformation called transonic regimes. So precise design parameters are essential to fabricate them for functional aspects. CFD plays the pivotal role to design them for functional aspects. In this background a CFD analysis done on an ejector system used to sub cool liquid hydrogen for launch vehicle propulsive equipment namely the turbo pump is explained in this paper. This is explained in this paper with respect to design condition as per one dimensional calculation, its real result at the outcome of CFD analysis, the variations between them and the reasons for these variations. The actual performance of the ejector is also given for the vacuum achieved during an experiment.
